Jaeger Lecoultre

Jaeger Lecoultre

Jaeger Lecoultre is a watchmaking Swiss company established at Sentier in the Joux valley (Canton of Vaux). It is today part of the great Swiss luxury group Richemont.

More than 170 years ago, in his workshop of Sentier, Antoine Lecoultre marked the beginning of a long history whose success always followed the course of time. Great visionary of his time, he was far from imagining that his family farm would become the first watch house of the Joux Valley.

From the first workings to the patented mechanisms, the Manufacture developed over the years, with the successive construction of new extensions. The alliance with the Parisian company Jaeger has allowed to extend the renown of the company, registered from that moment as key reference of the top of the range Swiss watchmaking.

Since then the Jaeger-Lecoultre Manufacture extended again. It has brought together under its roofs all the talents and all the skills necessary for the making of each timepiece in its integrality: 900 persons, 40 professions and 20 technologies.

It has filed 215 patents and created more than 1000 exceptional calibres, multiplied the challenges and the records. Its repertory goes from the Calibre 101, the smallest mechanical movement in the world, to the cleverest complications: tourbillons, perpetual calendars, minutes repeater, moon phases, indicators of power-reserve, chronographs, alarm clocks and watches with a double time zone.

Its presence is deployed worlwide through many branches. All of this while keeping the rules of the fine watchmaking, which makes of each watch a unique work bearing the imprint of its fathers. Original paradox, it is in the self-sufficiency of the Joux Valey, where time seems to be suspended, that are born the watchmakers masterpieces, emblematic instruments of the urban life. Faithfull to the spirit of the founder, the men and the women of Jaeger-Lecoultre perpetuate his inventive genius.

The legendary Reverso watch, the exploits of the Master Control and Master Compressor collections, the beauty of the ideal line, or the inimitable clock Atmos: each timepiece is made with the same love, in the constant quest for technical improvement and aesthetic harmony. Technical and professional knowledge, a commitment for excellence, a great pride to be working for the Manufacture and an intense cooperation between the various sectors, allow to carry out projects of an unknown complexity in the recent history of watchmaking.
